I’m Chris and I’m a Candid, Documentary, Reportage Style wedding photographer

(to be honest, all these new words keep coming up, but basically i capture your wedding as it happens and if i need to direct i will)

I am based in Gloucestershire, shooting weddings all over the Cotswolds and up to about three hours away across the UK.

I’m there for the real stuff. The belly laughs, the happy tears, the hugs that go on a bit too long, the chaos, the quiet, the absolute mayhem on the dancefloor. All the bits you’ll forget happened until you see them back.

How I got into this whole thing is pretty simple. I saw a few mates get married and get absolutely stitched up by photographers who treated the day like it was all about them. Couples being pulled away for over an hour for photos, photographers leaving bang on time even when the schedule had slipped, then months of waiting for a gallery that, honestly, wasn’t worth the hype. And it hit me that wedding photography isn’t just photography. It’s service. It’s care. It’s reading the room. It’s knowing when to step in and when to shut up and let life happen.

For me, the photo side is second nature now. Like riding a bike. I’m not worried about whether I can get the shots. I can. Where I actually add value is in your day. Keeping drama away from you. Keeping things moving. Working with your other suppliers. Helping it all feel easy. And never turning your wedding into my portfolio shoot. It’s your wedding. You’re meant to enjoy it, not spend it being directed like an extra in someone else’s film.

My job is to feel the flow of your day and be in the right place before the good stuff kicks off. Most of the time I blend in and let things unfold naturally. When you need a bit of direction, I’ll step in calmly, keep it light, and get you back to your people fast. Group photos too. Quick, painless, done.

I’m big on the experience as well as the photos. Couples often tell me it felt like having a mate there who just happened to be holding a camera. Expect a lot of charm, a few genuinely awful dad jokes, and someone who’s quietly got your back all day.
