Wedding at The Old Mill, Aldermaston, Berkshire
Real weddings · Aldermaston, Berkshire

The Old Mill wedding photographer.
Riverside and relaxed.

Natural, documentary wedding photography at The Old Mill in Aldermaston near Reading. Real moments, easy group photos and golden hour by the water.

The venue

A family-run mill
right on the water.

The Old Mill sits on the Basingstoke Road in Aldermaston, just outside Reading, with the Kennet and Avon canal rolling right past. It's a family-run venue with the Mill Room, the Stable Room, a conservatory and a garden patio, so the day flows easily from one space to the next.

Being by the water gives it a calm, easy pace. Guests drift outside with a drink, and that leaves me free to catch the genuine, unplanned moments that make your gallery.

The canal running past the mill makes a beautiful, natural backdrop for portraits, just steps from your guests.

Character rooms, a conservatory and a garden patio give you plenty of options, whatever the weather does.

03

The feel

Family-run and friendly. Couples and guests settle in quickly, which is exactly when the best candid photos happen.

How I work

Your day, not a photoshoot.

Most of your gallery will be real moments: the nerves, the laughs, the tears in the front row and the chaos on the dancefloor. I'll take you away for a short portrait session when the light is good, then hand you back to your guests.

Good to know

The Old Mill wedding questions.

Have you photographed weddings at The Old Mill?

Yes, including Mr & Mrs Smith's wedding on this page, so I already know where the light is best, where groups work well and how the day usually flows.

Do you charge travel to The Old Mill?

No. There are no travel fees anywhere in England and Wales, so the price on my website is the price you pay.

How far ahead should we book?

Most couples book 12 to 18 months out, and Saturdays from May to September go first. Midweek and winter dates are often available at shorter notice, so it's always worth asking.

Can you film our wedding as well?

Yes. The Storyteller package covers photos and a highlight film, or you can add a highlight film to shorter days. Same documentary style, just me working quietly with a couple of cameras.
