Wedding at Manor by the Lake, Cheltenham
Real weddings · Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Manor by the Lake wedding photographer.
Lakeside, laid-back.

Natural, documentary wedding photography at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham. Real moments, easy group photos and golden hour by the water.

The venue

A Cotswold manor with
a lake at its heart.

Manor by the Lake sits on Hatherley Lane on the edge of Cheltenham, about twenty minutes from my door. The historic manor house is set in around seven acres of landscaped grounds, with an ornamental lake right at the centre of the estate.

Ceremonies can happen inside or out on the lawns, and guests drift down to the water with a drink. That leaves me free to catch the genuine, unplanned moments that make your gallery.

Photographer's notes

What it's like to shoot here.

01

The lake

Reflections, the footbridge and the lawns around the water make a beautiful backdrop for portraits, just a short walk from your guests.

02

The house

Oak panelling, tall mullioned windows and chandeliers give the indoor ceremony and speeches real character.

03

The feel

Grand to look at, easy to relax in. Couples settle in quickly, which is exactly when the best candid photos happen.

How I work

Your day, not a photoshoot.

Most of your gallery will be real moments: the nerves, the laughs, the tears in the front row and the chaos on the dancefloor. I'll take you away for a short portrait session when the light is good, then hand you back to your guests.

Good to know

Manor by the Lake wedding questions.

Have you photographed weddings at Manor by the Lake?

Yes, including the Towers and Watkins-Wynn weddings on this page, so I already know where the light is best, where groups work well and how the day usually flows.

Do you charge travel to Manor by the Lake?

No. There are no travel fees anywhere in England and Wales, so the price on my website is the price you pay.

How far ahead should we book?

Most couples book 12 to 18 months out, and Saturdays from May to September go first. Midweek and winter dates are often available at shorter notice, so it's always worth asking.

Can you film our wedding as well?

Yes. The Storyteller package covers photos and a highlight film, or you can add a highlight film to shorter days. Same documentary style, just me working quietly with a couple of cameras.
