James’s Autumn Wedding at The Old Mill, Aldermaston

James’s November wedding at The Old Mill in Aldermaston was cosy in the best way. Exposed brick, fairy lights everywhere, a ceremony under an arch of autumn flowers, and a room full of people who came ready to have a good night.

Getting ready

The morning was calm. Shoes on the windowsill, the bridesmaids lined up in the old beamed rooms, and a dog who absolutely wanted to be in the photos. I let that happen. It is one of my favourite frames from the day.

Dinner under the lights

The Old Mill’s dining room is low beams and candlelight, so I keep it natural and work with the light that is there. Speeches, laughter, the odd tear. I shoot most of this in black and white because it suits the room and keeps the focus on faces.

The party

Then the first dance, glow sticks, and a photo booth corner that got properly out of hand. Inflatables, oversized sunglasses and a lot of shouting. Exactly how it should be.
