Eden’s April wedding was everything I love about a spring day in Hampshire. A church ceremony at St Mary’s in Old Alresford, a short walk round to Pinglestone Barn, and a party in a barn surrounded by vines. Relaxed, sunny and full of people who were clearly having the best time.

A church ceremony, then a walk to the barn
The ceremony was at St Mary’s, just round the corner from the barn, so everyone walked down together afterwards. It is one of my favourite set-ups: no coaches, no hanging around, just a crowd of happy guests strolling through the village.

Confetti, sunshine and a barn full of friends
Pinglestone Barn has huge beams, warm lights and plenty of grass outside, so the day had a lovely relaxed, almost festival feel. The confetti went up, the drinks came out, and nobody went inside until they absolutely had to.

Sunset in the vines
The barn sits in a sparkling wine vineyard, and golden hour there is ridiculous. We slipped out for ten minutes as the sun dropped and came back with some of my favourite photos of the year. Then it was straight back in for dancing under the fairy lights.

Getting married at Pinglestone Barn?
If you want a church wedding, St Mary’s is perfect, and the walk to the barn is half the fun. Keep ten minutes free in the evening for a sunset wander into the vines, and give yourselves plenty of time outside on the grass.
